Stock Controller

Position: Stock Controller

Location: Littlehampton West Sussex, BN17 7LU

Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Stock Management:

– Efficiently manage and control stock levels across multiple locations.

– Ensure accurate and timely recording of stock movements.

– Conduct regular stock checks and audits to maintain data accuracy.

  1. Location Coordination:

– Organise and maintain the systematic arrangement of stock within stores and      warehouses.

– Implement best practices for stock layout to optimise space utilisation.

– Coordinate with other departments to facilitate smooth stock transfers.

  1. Material Handling:

– Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.

– Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring the integrity of products.

– Handle fragile or sensitive items with care to prevent damage.

  1. Documentation:

– Maintain comprehensive records of stock movements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

– Generate regular reports on stock levels, discrepancies, and movement history.

– Collaborate with the administrative team to update relevant documentation.

  1. Quality Control:

– Implement and adhere to quality control measures for incoming and outgoing stock.

– Report any damaged or faulty products promptly to the relevant department.

  1. Communication:

– Communicate effectively with team members and other departments regarding stock requirements.

– Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to forecast and meet stock demands.

Qualifications and Skills: 

  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in stores and or warehouse role.
  2. Valid 3.5t counterbalance forklift license with proven hands-on experience.
  3. Possession of a valid UK driving license.
  4. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Proficient in using inventory management software.

Working Conditions:

– The role involves a combination of office and warehouse environments.

– Ability to lift and carry heavy items.

Mouldshop Day Shift Supervisor

About Us:

Meridian Medical Limited is a privately owned leading subcontract supplier of medical disposables in the UK and is dedicated to delivering high-quality products to our customers. We have 7 different production areas at our Littlehampton site which are a mix of class 7 and 8 cleanroom environments, each area manufacturing different types of medical devices.  Our injection MouldShop has 12 moulding machines and operates 24 hours per day 5 days per week.  The company currently has around 130 staff members and has seen continued growth over the past few years.

Job Description:

As our dayshift Mouldshop Supervisor, you will play a vital role in our production process, overseeing a team of operatives in the moulding of medical device disposables. Reporting to the cleanroom manager, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations, maintaining quality standards, and meeting supply deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, are essential for success in this role.  Our production systems used are 123 Insight for stock control and production planning via Intouch Monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning the production flow on a week-by-week basis to meet supply deadlines.
  • Ordering raw materials and packaging from stores ready for each production batch.
  • Planning workforce to moulding machine allocation.
  • Supervising the Mouldshop and QC personnel.
  • Be aware of all MML policies/procedures and ensure they are being followed.
  • Training the staff on product criteria for quality acceptance.
  • Ensuring the quality of the shift production and reporting production issues.
  • Maintaining and managing the team training records.
  • Ensuring product instructions and component specifications are met.
  • Reporting to the cleanroom manager.
  • Liaising with the tooling manager, setters, and night shift personnel.
  • Ensure production performance and improve reject rate.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Computer literate and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Benefits:

  • Competitive pay rate of £28,000 – £35,000 based on knowledge and previous experience.
  • For full time position, 33 days paid holiday per year (including bank holidays).

  • Two 15-minute tea breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
  • Meridian is closed for all UK bank holidays.
  • Working hours: 8am – 5pm Monday to Thursday
