As we reach the end of 2025, it feels like the perfect time to pause and reflect on what has been another busy and eventful year at Meridian Medical.
Things move so quickly here that many of our milestones can sometimes pass us by, so this is a great opportunity to acknowledge the achievements, challenges and memorable moments that have shaped the year.
Welcoming New Team Members

This year we were delighted to welcome several new members to the Meridian Medical team.
- Derek Massey joined us as Mouldshop and Tooling Manager, bringing a wealth of experience and leadership to the department.
- Karen, our new Reception and Accounts Administrator, has quickly become a friendly and familiar face in the front office.
- Zach Johnson joined our team as a daytime mould setter, supporting our expanding production requirements.
- Becky Fewkes came on board as our Marketing Executive, helping to strengthen Meridian Medical’s visibility and communication with customers and partners.
We also welcomed several new members across our assembly and mouldshop departments, further strengthening our skilled workforce and supporting our continued growth.
Celebrating Leavers and Retirements

This year also saw us say farewell to some long-standing and much-valued members of the team.
After over 20 years of dedicated service, Alan Miller, our Tooling Manager, retired. His expertise, commitment and leadership have played a huge role in shaping our capabilities over the years.
We also celebrated the retirements of Bev, Julie and Sarah, who together contributed over 70 years of service in our cleanroom. Their hard work, loyalty and good humour will be greatly missed and we wish them all the very best for a happy and fulfilling retirement.
Investing in New Production Equipment

Investment in technology remains key to Meridian Medical’s success. This year saw the arrival of a Boy 22-ton injection moulding machine, initially set up for high-wear materials such as PVC.
Unfortunately, the machine suffered a catastrophic failure and was beyond repair. However, we’re pleased to report it has been replaced with a brand-new version, which is now fully operational and contributing to production.
We also upgraded our ultrasonic welding capabilities with the installation of a state-of-the-art Branson ultrasonic welder. This advanced system includes digital data logging for full traceability and validation, further enhancing quality assurance and manufacturing efficiency.
Expanding New Product Development

2025 has been an exceptionally productive year for new product development. Our technical team successfully developed 51 new assembled and packaged devices and 32 new moulded components.
Medical device development is a complex and time-intensive process, so we are particularly proud of what our team has achieved. These new developments represent exciting partnerships, continued innovation and growing trust from both new and long-standing customers.
Upholding the Highest Standards in Quality and Compliance
Quality is at the heart of everything we do. This year, Meridian Medical successfully completed an extensive number of audits, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to excellence and compliance across all operations.
- 19 customer on-site (supplier surveillance) audits
- 10 notified body audits by BSI, TÜV, GMED, SGS and Intertek
- 1 unannounced audit
- 1 Social Compliance Audit on behalf of the NHS
In total, we spent 27 days in audit this year, a real testament to the strength of our quality systems and the dedication of our compliance teams.

Celebrating Together at Christmas
Meridian Medical was exceptionally proud to have been a finalist for Large Business of the Year 2025 at the Sussex Business Awards, acknowledging our progress and continued commitment to excellence across every stage of medical device manufacturing.
Whilst we didn’t take home the trophy, the recognition highlights how far we’ve come and inspires us to reach new milestones in 2026.

We continued the celebrations at our annual Christmas Party, once again held at Ham Manor Golf Club in Angmering. Around 90 members of staff enjoyed a full sit-down meal, DJ, charity raffle and a Secret Santa gift exchange.
It’s always one of the highlights of the Meridian Medical calendar – a wonderful chance for everyone to dress up, celebrate and catch up with colleagues from different departments and shifts.
The Meridian Medical team combined the celebrations with a charity raffle in support of Chestnut Tree House Children’s Charity, generously raising £328 to support children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as their families.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we draw to a close what has been a challenging but rewarding year for many in business, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our suppliers, partners and customers for their continued support and collaboration.
We’re now looking forward to a well-earned Christmas break and an exciting year ahead, with several new projects and developments already on the horizon for 2026.
From everyone at Meridian Medical, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
